As the situation was essentially one of “winning the lottery” and the client had not had experience with this kind of wealth before, we developed a recurring investment plan with which she feels comfortable while also making lump sum investments quarterly.
We increased liability limits to help protect cash accounts and investment accounts, and we worked with the client to spread the payout amount to multiple banks to ensure total FDIC protection.
