Butchers (Brokers) versus Dietitians (Fiduciaries)

Sometimes, a picture or sketch is worth a thousand words… Katie and I have often noticed that very few investors understand the difference between working with a broker versus with a fiduciary, and the resulting consequences of the help (or lack thereof) they receive. This ‘Butchers versus Dietitians’ narrative explains the difference extremely well. The only claim we would change is, “you call your broker, and you’ve got $200k, what should I do with it?” Problem is, most investors are putting their entire savings and investments on the line with brokers, which means they are risking their financial survival and freedom later in life.

We at Financial Harvest Wealth Advisors are fiduciaries, not brokers. Are you getting help from a fiduciary, or being ‘sold’ by a broker?

Austerity’s Meaning to You

September 13th, 2011

The word “austerity” has received a great deal of press lately, and I don’t think that people fully understand the far-reaching consequences of it. The most recent stimulus for the austerity press is a result of the current situation in Greece, where they are in default again, or at least, there is a fear of default.  This [...]

While this narrative and data was compiled throughout the past week, the market has already begun to fulfill on the knowledge shared in this video.  As we’re all aware, there has been a big fall in the market recently, which I refer to as “the fall of 2011”.  There was an approximate 16% sell off [...]
